Austin Altenburg

Austin provides comprehensive services to his clients that extends well beyond investment management. He does this by offering a full range of services – from tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies and comprehensive risk management to strategic asset allocation and detailed cash flow planning. “We continuously coordinate with our clients’ CPAs, attorneys and other advisors to align tax minimization and estate planning strategies.”

Austin knew from an early age that he was drawn to this career. As his father was a very successful Financial Advisor, Austin was able to start learning from him as an intern in high school. “Even from the beginning, it was very rewarding to see how my father was able to help family, friends and clients reach their financial and life goals.”

What Austin enjoys most about his role is putting clients at ease. “Taking a complex or confusing situation to a client and breaking it down and explaining it in a manner that is easily understandable is highly rewarding. Helping people is what it is really all about.”

Before joining Gryphon Financial Partners, Austin worked at Merrill Lynch from 2008 – 2021, most recently as a Senior Vice President. Before that, he was an Advisor at Fifth Third Securities. Austin earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Arizona State University.

Austin currently lives in Plain City, Ohio along with his wife and two children. In his limited free time, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his family and playing golf when he can.
