CJ Saunders

CJ recently joined Gryphon Financial Partners after spending the past few years as a professional football player in the National Football League, most recently with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 and before that, two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. CJ attributes his success in his football career to continually working hard to overcome all challenges and difficult situations. “I fought hard every day to be the best version of myself, no matter what happened the day before. In the NFL everybody has talent, so to be successful you must find different ways to provide value to your team and your organization. Mine was through hard work and perseverance.”

In his new role at Gryphon, CJ will specialize in investment strategies, retirement planning, and wealth management for athletes, professionals, and business owners. He understands the unique challenges that athletes and high-net-worth individuals face and is committed to providing personalized financial solutions that align with their goals. “I chose this career path because it combined my passions of helping people and finance.”

After joining the Ohio State football team as a walk on player, CJ went on to earn a full athletic scholarship, and then was named a team Captain. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Sports Management.

Annually, CJ hosts the CJ Saunders Youth Football Camp. He also speaks at local schools as a representative of the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award Group. He spends his free time running, reading, and watching his favorite sports teams (Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds, and Columbus Blue Jackets). He was born and raised in Central Ohio and currently lives in Worthington.
